Product Development Specialist

Naka Herbs & Vitamins is a leading Natural Health Products Distributor/Manufacturer. Naka is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Product Development Specialist to help grow our business.

The Product Development Specialist formulates a variety of nutritional products, with emphasis on liquid products. The successful candidate would also be responsible for coordinating all development and commercialization activities. Products developed may contain various ingredients including protein, fat, carbohydrate, vitamins, minerals, stabilizers, antioxidants, flavor systems, fiber, prebiotic and probiotic ingredients. The job description also includes working with co-packers to establish manufacturing procedures, specifications and processing technologies as well as providing technical support. The preferred individual will have:

BS or MS in Food Science, Food Technology, Food Engineering or related degree required.
4-15 years experience in product development of liquid nutritional products with a proven track record of developing complex and successful product introductions required.
Demonstrated experience with food chemistry, herbal technology, emulsion systems, flavor systems and protein interactions as it relates to manufacturing of stable liquid products for maximum shelf life.
Ability to manage all phases of new product development including confirming new product prototype design with a diverse group of highly energetic people, while establishing time lines for project completion.
Must have a proven track record in project management, commercial product launches and product development with co-packers.
Advanced computer literacy is essential.
Prior participation on project teams with previous record of successful project management and technical report writing is required.
Professional and strong interpersonal, oral and written communication skills are required.

The successful candidate will be responsible for Sales Procurement for existing and new accounts within the specified region.

Responsibilities will include:
• Maintain and grow client accounts
• Identify and develop new business
• Achieve and surpass sales goals and objectives
• Conduct in-store product demonstrations
• Optimization of in-store merchandising
• Provide retailer product education/training
• Maintenance of comprehensive customer records
• Initiation and conceptual organization of regional co-operative advertising campaigns

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:
1. 2 - 3 years in the natural health industry

American customers. Naka is a leading manufacturer and world wide distributor of natural health
products, vitamins, supplements, and herbal remedies.

Job Description:
As the Public Relations Manager you will be responsible for all aspects of consumer communication.
The successful applicant will be customer service oriented with excellent communications skills, and
have a proven record of accomplishments. We are looking for a self starter, who can work as part of
a team, is creative and flexible.

Responsibilities include:
• Manage website communication
• Organize and conduct retailer training seminars
• Organize and conduct consumer and industry trade shows
• Organize and conduct retail product demonstrations
• Technical health writing
• Competitive Market analysis
• Produce reports for the Executive team
• Some overnight travel is required

Required Skills & Qualifications:
• Completion of High School
• University or College degree in Business Administration and/or Marketing
• Knowledge of the natural health products industry
• Proven leadership skills
• Strong organizational, problem-solving and analytical skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Demonstrated ability to make successful presentations to individuals and/or groups
• Valid Driver’s License

Reliable transportation is required as the position involves overnight travel.
